Do The Statute Of Limitations Only Apply To The State I’m Living In At The Time?

Does the statute of limitations for a debt apply only to the state I resided in when the debt was incurred (Indiana, with a six-year limit), or does it shift to the state I currently live in (Texas, with a four-year limit), especially since my wages are being garnished for a credit card judgment from seven years ago, and could the creditor have intentionally sent lawsuit notices to my old Indiana address to secure a default judgment?
